The Center House bio picture
  • Welcome!

My Husband (Chris) and I own our very first house together in Tualatin, Oregon.

This is where I will (eventually) have all you would want to know about me when I get a moment to decide what to write. For now, this will have to be my reminder :-)

In the meantime, I hope a little bit of my personality comes out with each blog I post and that you feel at home in our "Center House" :-)

    Have a happy day!

Condo Update

So we finally (sort of) finished the condo! All we have left is painting the ceiling edges.

You can read the original post here.

The biggest face lift was the new carpet – it’s like a night and day difference.

Okay so it’s a different room but we added a rug to the living room so you can’t really see the beautiful carpet. Here is the living room though :-)

SO much nicer now!

We may have it available in the next few months for rent so I will post more about it later if you are local and interested :-)

Until next time!

Why The Center House?

You may be wondering why I chose to call my blog “The Center House.” Well it’s actually quite simple – we are almost in the exact center of our cul de sac. :-)

Chris and I were married April 2008 and lived in the condo he already owned before we found our first house together (this one!).

We have now lived in our center house for almost 2 years and I love it! We have the best neighborhood, the BEST neighbors that we actually know (seriously how did we get so lucky?), and are having a blast learning to be married :-)

I love DIY projects and decorating and read so many house blogs that I thought “why not start my own?” That way I can share with family and friends and soon-to-be friends all of my inspirations, crafty projects, and just walk life together. I hope you stop by often to say hello!

Have a happy day!

House Tour!

Welcome to our home! I thought it was about time to let you see where we live. Some of these photos are older but it’s been so dark and rainy I haven’t been able to get better photos taken. So for now, this will do :-)

Our Living Room: (update: the walls are now green :-)

Dining Room:

The Kitchen: (I LOVE my kitchen!!!)

Master Bedroom: (I have already been working on making it more girly less manly…new blog soon!)

Master Bathroom:

Our Guest Room and Entertainment Room: (well, half of it :-)

We also have a 3rd bedroom that my husband uses as his office and a 2nd bathroom. Which I don’t have photos of. Yet. :-)

I am looking forward to all the different house projects I have planned! So much to do!

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

I Won a Stencil Giveaway!!!

I cannot believe it! I have never won anything before and I am super super SUPER excited!!!! Thank you Rita from Harbour Breeze Home for the opportunity to win a Cutting Edge Stencil!

If you haven’t yet heard about Cutting Edge Stencils today is your lucky day! I love the idea of being able to stencil my walls because it’s cheaper than wallpaper, reusable, and it can be used for so much more than just walls!

For me though, definitely starting with our wall in the bedroom:

The plan is to paint the whole room a light/medium gray and then paint the wall that the bed is against in a high gloss white. THEN I will use my fabulous new stencil (yet to be chosen) and stencil over the white with the same gray.

This is where I could use some help – I’ve narrowed down my options to a few different stencils. Chris has already told me which one he likes but I would love your opinion too! (I might just have to buy more in the future :-)

So, here are the choices:

So which one do you like best??? :-)

PS: My super awesome amazing mom bought me a new duvet cover for my birthday last september that isn’t on the bed because it is being washed. But here is what it looks like:
